Basic human rights: Do you believe in the universality of human rights? Or, should the protection of human rights take into consideration the cultural characteristics of each society?
Some people say asylum seekers deserve our sympathy, others say we are too soft on asylum seekers. What are your thoughts?
‘Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.’ Would you then agree that a federal constitution, which brings about a division of power in actual practice, is a more secure protection for basic human rights and freedoms than an abstract declaration of rights?
Many people see asylum seekers as a problem for Australia. What are your thoughts?
